So You Want to Repurpose Church Property?

Embrace Context, Vision and Community

Repurposing church property effectively is more than just a real estate transaction to make more money. If you are looking to repurpose, there are several necessary elements required to see a successful effort come to pass. These elements include identifying your leaders’ purpose, knowing your congregation's passions/gifts/personality, hearing the community’s voice, discerning vision, making a congregational commitment and collaborating with people and organizations in your community. Skipping any of these elements might lead you to inadvertently surrender God’s vision for the community to other interests.

Join Rev. Joe Daniels and leaders from Emory as they share their story of going from a part-time appointment and a congregation that was presumed dead to a revitalized congregation that facilitated the construction of a $60 million multi-use building project with 99 units of affordable housing. Even though God’s dream for your community and the resulting project may have a different missional focus, the process of preparing for development is the same. Many congregational leaders leave this half-day experience inspired to move into fresh possibilities and God-sized imagination.

You may have a team of up to 15 people from your church. Dates, time and agenda for our gathering are below. See you soon!
