On Fire…Or Burned Out? Clergy Renewal Day

We once approached ministry with a burning desire to make a difference in the lives of people and in our world. But now – if truth be told – there are many days that we just want to “get through it.” The burning desire has morphed into a sense of burning out.

What happened?

The stresses inherent in ministry, coupled with the stresses we experience in our personal lives as well as in our communal lives outside of church, can rob us of the joy in ministry. Those stresses can extinguish the fire of passion for ministry, leaving only a rapidly cooling wick where a flame once danced.

In this day of renewal and self-care, led by physician-theologian Dr. Pat Fosarelli, we will learn the difference between good stress and bad stress, how bad stresses affects us physically, emotionally, and spiritually, how the bad stress of others can affect us as if it were our own, and (most importantly) what we can do about bad stress and our reaction to it. Interspersed with presentations will be time for solitude, prayer, and conversations with others experiencing similar challenges.

The cost of the event is $25. Lunch will be provided. Attendance at this event will earn 0.5 CEUs. The deadline to register is Wednesday, November 13 by midnight.
